2017 Breeders Cup Championship Races set for Saturday, November, 4th
A total of nine championship races are on tap at Del Mar Racetrack on Saturday, November, 4th which should be exciting and hopefully a profitable one as well.
The first Breeders’ Cup Race will commence with the 14 Hands Winery, Juvenile Fillies (Grade 1) with race # 4 and finish up with the ultimate race, the Breeders’ Cup Classic in race #12.
Speaking of the Classic, will Arrogate repeat as champion in back to back years? Will Gun Runner or Collected challenge Arrogate this year or will a longshot upset the entire field? The Breeders’ Cup Classic has a post time of 5:35 PM PDT / 8:35 PM EDT.

Breeders Cup Longiness Distaff (G1) – Best Female Dirt Horses compete in the Championship Showdown at 9-Furlongs with a Purse of $2,000,000. WINNER: Forever Unbridled
Breeders Cup Las Vegas Dirt Mile (G1) – Dirt Track for 3-year-old and up at 8-Furlongs with a Purse of $1,000,000. WINNER: Battle of Midway
Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) – Horse 3-years of age and older are eligible to compete in a 5.5-Furlong turf race with a Purse of $1,000,000.
Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1) – Filly & Mare one turn Sprint at 7-Furlongs for 3-years-old and up with a Purse of $1,000,000.
Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf (G1) – “Girls Only” Filly & Mare Turf compete in an 11-Furlongs race with a Purse of $2,000,000.
Breeders’ Cup TwinSpires Sprint (G1) – Males and Females ages 3-years-old and up compete on dirt at 6-Furlongs with a Purse of $1,500,000.
Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) – At 8-Furlongs (1 mile) race which has 2 turns on turf for horse 3-years-old and up with a Purse of $2,000,000.
Breeders’ Cup Longines Turf (G1) – Top 3-year-old and up turf talent from Europe and North America compete in a 120Furlong race with a Purse of $4 Million Dollars.
Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) – Male and Female horses 3-years-old and up Champions Compete on dirt at 10-Furlongs with a Purse of $6 Million Dollars. There are only 14 Post Positions for this race.
