Kentucky Derby “The Run for the Roses”
2016 Kentucky Derby Leaderboard as of 4/18/16
Here are the current rankings leading up to the Kentucky Derby 2016. Moving all the way up to the #1 ranking is Gun Runner who won the Louisiana Derby on 3/26/16 and earned 100 points in the process.
Moving all the way up to #2 in the ranking with an impressive run is Nyquist who had a fast start and never looked back and won the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park on 4/2/16.
Exaggerator moved all the way up to #3 in the rankings and gained 100 points in the process with an unbelievable run in the slop in the Santa Anita Derby on 4/9/16. At one point in the race, Exaggerator was 10 lengths from the leader at the 5/8 pole then accelerated like a rocket (again in the slop) and blew past 5 horses to easily win the race. No exaggeration with this horse and his performance!!!!!
Never give up on your horse even if it’s in the last place at the 1/2 mile mark. A great example of this happened at the Arkansas Derby this past weekend at Oaklawn Park. Creator was well behind the field of 12 contenders but managed to make impressive moves down the stretch and fly past them all to win the big race. Also coming on strong was Suddenbreakingnews to finish second with an impressive showing along with Whitmore finishing third.
